4PM - CLASS VISITOR: Effie Rieper, from trans-genred digital-dissident outsider artist to Creative Technologist– and back again

BIO Effie Rieper is a trans-genred digital outsider-artist who has been producing experimental music, performance art, net.art and interactive installation under an assortment of aliases since 1998. Engaged with and inspired by culture-jamming, cyberfeminism, queer identity, digital autonomy, and social justice, the works span in tone from soft and tender poetic expressions of vulnerability to loud, vicious confrontations of systems of power.

Effie worked professionally as a creative technologist at studios in New York making installations, web-experiments, and virtual experiences for local museums and regrettable multi-national corporations before briefly operating their own studio for two years.

Returning to their roots, Effie has been releasing music under the alias Effie Vision and is releasing a pair of concept albums on 10.10.2020, "the happy planets – A.D. 2020" & "Effie Vision – Anti-Body"
