BRIEF DISCUSSION about some of the readings this week "Virtual Reality vs. (Actual) Reality: Your Mind's View of Reality Isn't Often 'Real'" by Jim Blascovich, Ph.D. and The Coronavirus Crisis Is Showing Us How to Live Online // some thoughts on how the first study and conclusions about "perceived threats" -- are we getting into predictive algorithm territory? and your thoughts about living online + I highly encourage you all to watch "World on a Wire" directed by Rainier Fassbinder, 1972 or at least read the premise - dovetails into Simulation Theory (the world could be a video game), and reflections on the "consciousness" of avatars in Virtual Reality.

READING/VIEWING 03: (1) READ VR Sickness: Do You Need to Worry About It In 2020? (2) READ New Report from ILMxLab & Disability Visibility Project Shares Insights on VR Accessibility Design." *If I do not ask you to post about the readings, I still expect you to do the readings and be prepared to discuss in class the following week. This week you are NOT assigned to write about these readings.

MICRO ASSIGNMENT POST 03: On your class process blog WRITE a critical analysis of your play experiences from above ⬆. This should be at least two paragraphs (7-8 sentences) long. Discuss your comfort levels, your sense of presence and engagement. Did you feel like you had free will? Were you so immersed that you forgot about physical (actual) reality? *If you were experiencing this as a screen-based experience, you can also discuss presence, agency and engagement and also speak to its limitations.
