BRIEF DISCUSSION about some of the readings this week and // some thoughts on how the first study and conclusions about "perceived threats" -- are we getting into predictive algorithm territory? and your thoughts about living online + I highly encourage you all to watch "World on a Wire" directed by Rainier Fassbinder, 1972 or at least read the premise - dovetails into Simulation Theory (the world could be a video game), and reflections on the "consciousness" of avatars in Virtual Reality.
PRESENTATIONS (we will not have time for every student to present on each assignment, but I encourage you to check out each others' blogs!) (class discussion) - 1 hour (presented in *new* outdoor classroom on Mozilla Hubs here>> , *if possible)

MICRO ASSIGNMENT POST 03: On your class process blog WRITE a critical analysis of your play experiences from above ⬆. This should be at least two paragraphs (7-8 sentences) long. Discuss your comfort levels, your sense of presence and engagement. Did you feel like you had free will? Were you so immersed that you forgot about physical (actual) reality? *If you were experiencing this as a screen-based experience, you can also discuss presence, agency and engagement and also speak to its limitations.
Before we begin, download the following assets files .
(1) (31:21) - interface, creating basic 3D objects in Maya, applying a shader, UV mapping
(2) (10:00) - finishing the UV mapping and applying a texture map
(3) (7:16) - setting project, importing a 3D file, exporting a 3D file
(1) (29:38) - exporting from Maya, importing to Unity. Simple animation.
(2) (22:19) - creating a mouse view experience in Unity Player
(3) (10:40) - first person using the first person all-in-one 2020
(4) (12:17) - first person demo file, plus adding a 3D character and animating it in Unity
MICRO ASSIGNMENT 03: (1) (or Social VR Play) Depending on your assess to headset, spend time in Oculus Quest VR playing free games, OR in Mozilla Hubs on screen.
