CLASS VISIT 01 (visiting experts) 1 Hour
Martina Menegon & Wade Wallerstein, Social VR, 2:00-3:00pm Bios Martina Menegon () is an artist working with Interactive and Extended Reality Art. In her works, Martina creates intimate and complex assemblages of physical and virtual elements that explore the contemporary self and its synthetic corporeality. She experiments with the uncanny and the grotesque, the self and the body and the dialogue between the physical and the virtual realities, to create disorienting experiences that become perceivable despite their virtual nature.
Martina is a University Assistant and Lecturer at the department of Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where she teaches βDigital Design and Virtualityβ. She is also teaching multimedia tools for interactive arts at the IUAV University in Venice (MA Digital Exhibit, BA Multimedia Arts) together with Klaus Obermaier and Stefano DβAlessio.
In 2019 she co-directed :afk with Shahab Nedaei and curated a series of XR Art exhibitions in Vienna. She is Head of Extended Reality and Curator at the βArea for Virtual Artβ a platform for immersive experiences and get-togethers.
Martina Menegon currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Wade Wallersetin () is an anthropologist from the San Francisco Bay Area. His research centers around communication in virtual spaces and the relationship between digital visual culture and contemporary art. Wade is the founder and Director of Silicon Valet, a virtual parking lot for expanded internet art where he runs an exhibition platform and digital artist residency program. He is also co-Director of TRANSFER Gallery in Los Angeles, which is an exhibition space devoted to simulation and other computational art forms. Wade is a member of the UCL Multimedia Anthropology Laboratory, Clusterduck Research Network, and also serves as Technology & Events Curator at the Consulate of Canada in San Francisco.

βCLASS VISIT 02 (visiting expert) 1 Hour Leah Roh, VR & Experiential Storytelling, Representation & Social Equity, 4:00pm - 5:00pm Bio Leah Roh () is a Brooklyn-based 3D artist and educator. She builds computer-generated experiences that explore the ways in which interactive technologies can be applied to experiential learning and storytelling. She likes to examine how virtual mediums can communicate the nuances of our identities and the ways they are represented in popular culture in hopes to cultivate a space for social engagement and positive change. Utilizing game engine and 3D animation software, Leah designs and fabricates multisensory installations that negotiate the boundaries between our physical form and virtual embodiment. She is a NEW INC alum and currently teaches at Pratt Institute and NYU.
