WHAT IS HUMOR? Yuliya Lanina Presentation and Q & A Getting Started: Please prepare a 4 minute presentation on your favorite comedian, show, movie, comic or video to present in the class. Provide 2 minute excerpts for your reference. Answer the following questions: what makes this funny to whom it appeals what it says (or doesn’t) about our current times What do you think comedy can do that other forms of entertainment or information can’t?

ASSIGNMENT 01

PRE-WORK/PLAY: (1) ACCEPT Discord Invitation (2) FILL OUT CLASS CHECK-IN/ABOUT YOU form (3) CREATE a folder for yourself in the class Google drive . (4) PREPARE a no longer than 4 minute presentation on your favorite comedian, show, movie, comic or video to present in the class. Provide a 2 minute or less excerpt for your reference. Answer the following questions:

  1. What makes this funny?

  2. To whom does it appeal?

  3. What does it say (or not) about our current times?

  4. What do you think comedy can do that other forms of entertainment or information can’t?
